                                             SubGroups
        DexMil members sometimes organize smaller subgroups to assist or participate in specific activities.  Some existing or potential subgroups are listed here.  Persons to call for information are indicated with the DexMil ID number.  Consult your membership roster to get the number or email to contact.  

       Driving - Weekly trips to local grocery stores.  At one time this ran trips on Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings.  Only the Tuesday group is currently active.   Occasional medical appointments are booked as they arise.     For more information call DM ID #11

      Live Traps  - Two HavaHart Live trsps are available for rent at two DEXMILS per week.  The large trap as suitalbe for ground hogs and raccoons and the small one for squirrels and chipmunks.  Call DM ID #11 for information on their avaiability and current location.  

      Scrabble - There was a weekly Scrabble game for DEXMIL members in the past.  Call DM ID #  13 for current information.

      Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
      - affiliated with a specific CSA farm. Members pay a fixed fee at the beginning of the year and are then entitled to delivery of a variety of farm produce over the summer, usually June through October. The kinds of food supplied depends on the particular farm you are affiliated with and the quantities depend on how weather affects crop yields. Food is usually picked up weekly, either from the farm or at some local collection point such as a farmer;s market or some agreed meeting point. Several families together can negotiate a lower initial fee per family and share in the weekly collection and distribution.       DVD and VHS Tape Exchange -   a small collection of DVDs and Tapes has been catalogued and items are available  for a few days loan. The catalogue is provided as a separate page under Special Interest Subgroups


      Phone Check - Four or five members could form a calling circle and at an agreed time of day each member calls the next in sequence until the circle is completed and all are assured that the other members are up and in good condition. If the circle is broken one of the members investigates the cause and takes corrective action. An active calling circle has been formed as of  August, 2011..
       
      Snowblower - Several households have large snowblowers which they are interested in sharing with near neighbors. The truck cooperative is considering  acquiring one for its members use.
